Ever wonder how Carriage Home owners stay fit?
At Haverford Reserve, over 120 acres have been permanently preserved for woods and trails. The residents will tell you that there’s nothing like a morning walk in the woods to start the day right. “This is such a healthy place, says long-time resident Dr. Tony Albornoz. With so many trails, from easy to challenging, I get quite a workout. You’re outside, you breathe in the fresh air, and just go.”
Haverford Reserve’s Master Plan also preserved over 50 acres for playing fields, an award-winning playground, and Haverford Township’s excellent Community Recreation + Environmental Center.
The CREC supports a healthy community with an impressive fitness studio and an all-seasons walking track and basketball court, as well as Yoga, Pilates, Zumba and cardio classes to improve strength, flexibility, balance and endurance.
Ask almost any Carriage Home owner, and they’ll tell you how much the Center means to them. You’ll hear comments like “The instructors really pay attention to my specific needs.” and “I usually go with my neighbors. And if I go alone, there’s always a friendly face.”
For resident and lifelong athlete Dennis Tessler, the CREC was his ticket back to health after a stroke. “Every day my neighbor Bruce and I would walk the indoor track until I felt strong enough to start building myself up. Today I’m back – a powerful 69 year old with a 33 inch waist who can bench press 225.”
